Pre-departure Program
Description
Consider moving to another country. The same difficulties of moving to a new city within the U.S. are combined with a new language and a foreign culture. inlingua's Pre-Departure Training prepares individuals or families for the move to a foreign location so that the likelihood of a failure is reduced. A needs assessment is done and a specific program is developed consistent with the experience and need of the individual or family. Special program sections are oriented to the needs of the transferee, the non-working spouse, teenagers and children. For more information, view the program outline. Program Length The program lasts one or two days. Training Methods / Materials Training consists of a combination of lecture, discussion, role play and demonstrations. A customized program manual is provided to each participant. Program Leaders Training is conducted by one or more leaders with experience living outside the U.S., a national of the target country now living in the U.S. and an American with experience living in the target culture. Participants The transferee and family (a separate program is provided for the teenagers and/or children). |
